China Jiliang University College of Modern Science and Technology

    China Jiliang University College of Modern Science and Technology is a full-time undergraduate college with distinctive features, located in the Shuangjiang Lake Technology and Education Park of Yiwu International Trade Comprehensive Reform Pilot Zonein Yiwu City, the world capital of small commodities. It boasts a beautiful natural environment and a unique architectural style. The campus covers an area of 898 acres of land in the planning (including 368 acres of shared area), with a total construction area of 254,000 square metres. Equipped with all kinds of facilities, it is an ecological, digital and garden-styled college.

The college was established with the approval of People’s Government of Zhejiang Province and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in 1999 and was confirmed as an independent college by the Ministry of Education in 2004. In 2015, it was listed as a Pilot Construction University for Application-oriented Undergraduate Education.

In January 2019, the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province approved the relocation of China Jiliang University College of Modern Science and Technology to Yiwu.

Despite changes in the school’s name and campus location, the college has always adhered to the goal of fostering virtue through education. We have made determined efforts to improve the teaching quality, which has been widely recognized by all sectors of society. By June 2023, the number of students enrolled is nearly 7,000.

The college has a faculty that is both morally upright and professionally competent, with a deep love for students and a strong commitment to education. Over 95% of the current teachers hold postgraduate degrees, and 35% hold senior professional titles or above.

China Jiliang University College of Modern Science and Technology has also engaged several well-known experts and entrepreneurs as visiting professors or adjunct professors.

In the past three years, faculty of the college has led or undertaken more than 10 national and provincial-level projects, published 138 high-level indexed papers, and obtained 99 patents, among other achievements.

China Jiliang University College of Modern Science and Technology currently has eight secondary colleges (departments), which are College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, College of Metrology and Measurement Engineering, College of Information Engineering, College of Management, College of Humanities and Law, College of Basic Sciences, College of Marxism, School of Continuous Education, Department of Military and Physical Education.

It offers 23 undergraduate programs in six major disciplinary categories: Engineering, Management, Law, Liberal Arts, and Economics,fostering coordinated development across multiple disciplines.

The college has 1 First-class Discipline in Zhejiang Province, 1 Key Construction Discipline in Zhejiang Province, 5 Provincial First-class Programs, 4 Provincial Characteristic Programs, 2 Experimental Teaching Demonstration Centers in Zhejiang Province, 1 National Excellent Online Course, 2 National First-class Undergraduate Courses and 21 First-class Courses in Zhejiang Province.

To comply with innovation in integrating general and professional courses, characteristic talent cultivation programs have been developed for different majors. Some majors adopt policies of specialized recruitment and major allocation, striving to cultivate professionals the fields of metrology and standards.

After two decades of hard work, educational standard and quality of the college have improved and are recognized by society.

In the past three years, students have made great achievements in academic competitions, such as Challenge Cup, mathematical modeling, intelligent vehicle, robotics and E-commerce, including 1 international second prize, 7 national first prizes, 15 national second prizes, 11 national third prizes, 2 provincial grand prizes, and a total of 544 awards at the provincial level and above.

The employment rate and the quality of employment are among the top in the independent colleges of Zhejiang Province. It has also consistently ranked at the forefront in the surveys on career development status and talent cultivation quality of college graduates conducted by the Zhejiang Province Education Evaluation Institute.

The number of graduates pursuing postgraduate studies and further education abroad continues to rise. Graduates are involved in a wide range of entrepreneurial fields with flexible forms of entrepreneurship. They maintain an entrepreneurial rate of around 5% one year after graduation, ranking in the top 10 among undergraduate institutions in the province for several consecutive years.
